Taxonomy Block

The Taxonomy Block automatically displays posts from the current taxonomy being viewed (category, tag, or custom taxonomy) in a customizable grid layout. This Pro block is perfect for creating custom archive page templates with our DigiFusion theme and its Site Builder feature from DigiFusion Pro, allowing you to design beautiful taxonomy pages that showcase related content in an organized, visually appealing format.

Adding the Taxonomy Block

Navigate to the page or template where you want to display taxonomy posts. Click the block inserter (+) and search for “Taxonomy” in the DigiBlocks Theme category. The block displays preview content in the editor, with actual posts populated automatically based on the current taxonomy on the frontend.

Layout Configuration

Grid Layout Options

Control the overall layout structure in the Layout panel:

Posts to Show – Set the number of posts to display (1-20 posts)

Columns – Configure responsive grid columns:

  • Desktop: 1-4 columns
  • Tablet: 1-3 columns
  • Mobile: 1-2 columns

Item Spacing – Adjust the gap between grid items (0-80px)

Content Display Options

Post Elements

Choose which post elements to display using the Content panel toggles:

Display Featured Image – Shows the post’s featured image

  • Image Size options: Thumbnail, Medium, Large, or Full

Display Title – Shows the post title as a clickable link

Display Meta – Shows post metadata with sub-options:

  • Show Author – Display author name with avatar
  • Show Date – Display publication date
  • Show Comments Count – Show comment count with link

Display Excerpt – Shows post excerpt

  • Excerpt Length – Set word count (5-100 words)

Display Read More Button – Shows customizable call-to-action button

  • Read More Text – Customize button text

Pagination Settings

Pagination Controls

Configure pagination in the Pagination panel:

Enable Pagination – Toggle pagination functionality on/off

Pagination Alignment – Choose alignment:

  • Left
  • Center
  • Right

Query Configuration

Post Ordering

Control how posts are retrieved and ordered in the Query panel:

Order By – Sort posts by:

  • Date
  • Title
  • Author
  • Modified Date
  • Comment Count

Order – Set sorting direction:

  • Ascending
  • Descending

Animation Effects

Add entrance animations to make the taxonomy block more engaging when users scroll to it. Choose from various animation effects including fade, slide, zoom, and bounce animations. Use the preview button to test animations before publishing.

Responsive Design

All styling options include responsive controls for desktop, tablet, and mobile devices. Adjust typography sizes, spacing, grid columns, and layout elements independently for each screen size to ensure optimal display across all devices.

Visibility Controls

Control block visibility across different devices:

Hide on Desktop – Hide the block on desktop screens

Hide on Tablet – Hide the block on tablet devices

Hide on Mobile – Hide the block on mobile devices

Hidden elements appear with reduced opacity in the editor for easy editing, with visibility changes taking effect only on the frontend.

HTML Anchor

Add a unique HTML anchor to create direct links to this block section. Enter a word or two without spaces to generate a unique web address for the block.

Additional CSS Classes

Add custom CSS classes for additional styling control. Separate multiple classes with spaces to apply custom styles or integrate with theme-specific styling.

Template Usage

The Taxonomy Block is particularly powerful when used with DigiFusion theme’s Site Builder feature for creating custom taxonomy archive templates. It automatically adapts to display posts from whatever taxonomy is currently being viewed, making it perfect for category pages, tag archives, and custom taxonomy listings.
